Geth has dropped support for the personal API in version v1.14 breaking Etherwall if the packaged version of geth is newer.
There is currently no workaround other than downloading and using an older version of geth (1.13 is a good candidate) and using it explicity.
Supporting newer version of geth would require a rewrite of the account management into using clef. Unfortunately I do not currently have enough free cycles to tackle a big project like that.
The site has been completely redesigned. Read more here if you’re interested to know why.
Geth version 1.11+ is not supported due to the deprecation of the personal API by geth developers. Until Etherwall is updated, users should keep using geth version 1.10 or older. A workaround is possible for those that have to use newer geth versions.
Etherwall v3.0.3 with geth 1.10.7 released with UI fixes.
Wojciech Kosior has created a great article on running custom chains with Etherwall. Check it out!
